Are labels getting out of hand?

Sitting in the shop today I was graced with the presence of one of my favorite reps.  She had brought me, along with her boss, some new wines that had just gotten approved in Georgia.  It would be interesting to see how I would have reacted to the wines if I had tried them blind, the labels were outrageous.  But the funny thing is, they would sell and probably sell well.  But when does it border on distasteful?  While most of the labels are colorful and fun, one of the wines has a unique name that if pronounced in a certain way would not be appropriate for polite company.

The following are the labels, what do you think?  (these are kinda large, let them load I guess…)

Did you get it?  On the same note, I guess this is free marketing, maybe that was the intention.

They are good wines, in fact quite delicious.  I just don’t think that my customer base would appreciate the humor and creativity.  I could definitely see these in a more trendy area of town, maybe Ansley?   If you see them around, they are good wines for the money.  Maybe I’ll pick them up, who knows?  But for now, what do you think about the labels?

Ha. ‘Sofa King’ could raise a few eyebrows.
Interesting labels. Should do well with a specific market.
    How were the wines?
I would think they could get some decent Zin and Petite out of Paso Robles.
    Others certainly have.
    Cheers.

I suspect it will do well. The labels are attractive and creative. They will definitely stand out on a shelf.

As for the wines themselves, they were quality Paso wines. I’m not blown away by much from the area, but they surely fit the profile of what is Paso Robles.
